Project Overview

Revamping an e-commerce platform with UX redesign and backend automation

The client — a fast-growing retail company — approached us with a clear objective: to redesign their outdated online store and eliminate internal inefficiencies caused by manual order processing and lack of integration between systems. Their platform was generating traffic, but conversion rates were stagnating, and order fulfillment required significant manual effort from the in-house team.

The first challenge was to audit the entire flow — from user experience to backend operations. We started with a UX assessment, mapped the customer journey, analyzed analytics data, and identified critical pain points: unclear product navigation, a multi-step checkout, and frequent cart drop-offs. On the internal side, we discovered disconnected warehouse software, a basic CRM, and multiple overlapping Excel-based processes.

Based on the audit, we proposed a complete redesign of the customer-facing interface and a parallel upgrade of the internal logic. The new design was built around speed, clarity, and mobile-first accessibility. Product filters, search, cart behavior, and checkout were fully reworked. Each screen was prototyped and tested with real users before implementation.

From the technical side, we developed custom middleware that connected the storefront with the CRM, inventory system, and delivery modules. Orders are now synced in real time, inventory is auto-updated, and the client receives automated reports on stock levels and pending shipments. We also added logic for promo campaigns and dynamic product bundles — all editable from the admin panel.

The front end was implemented using React with a lightweight component structure, while the back end ran on Laravel with secure API endpoints for third-party integration. We also optimized database queries and image loading to improve page speed, especially on mobile — which now accounts for over 70% of traffic.

After launch, the client reported a 22% increase in conversion rate, and customer complaints related to order delays dropped by more than half. The warehouse team significantly reduced manual data entry, and sales managers now manage promotions and customer segments directly from the platform — no developer involvement needed. This project helped transform a basic store into a connected, scalable retail system. The client retained our team for long-term maintenance and additional improvements, including analytics dashboards and international payment modules, which are currently in development.
